Beautiful Historic Home Great For Events
Listing agent: Valerie Hunter-Kelly, Call 931-648-8500 for information. In 1833 the Graysville Inn/Stagecoach Inn served as a bustling relay station for Major John Gray's (founder of Elkton) stagecoach and the area's thriving railroad lines. Native Americans paused at the Inn to rest during the forced march known as "The Trail of Tears." It also served as a church, hospital, and staging point during the Civil War. According to legend, notable historical figures Andrew Jackson, Jenny Lind, Barnum, Jesse James, and Duncan Hines, among others, patronized the Inn. During the latter half of the 20th century, homeowners operated a legendary restaurant and antique shop. The Stage Coach Inn (certified Historical Register and Trail of Tears site) currently serves as a frequent venue for special occasions by current homeowners. Several covered and side porches on this wooded lot make for an excellent party or wedding setting or just a great place to begin or end the day. This beautiful home has since been updated and includes 4 working fireplaces (w space to add 3 more), a new 30 year dimensional roof, several covered porches, a patio, and mostly hardwood floors. The front walkway is original brick -- no two bricks are the same! The exterior is 3 bricks thick. This wooded lot includes a swing and pecan trees. BROKER'S OPEN HOUSE will be held on August 13, 11:30 am-2 pm. OPEN HOUSE for this home will be held on August 15, 2-4 pm.
