This 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is one of 315 that received VIN numbers. Based on the order of the serial numbers, this car was the 193rd out of the 315 that were made that year. There are 2 cars matching this year and model with a serial number under 100. The cars with the last 6 digits ending less than 100 are most likely kept in a museum or used for the final crash/road testing, but CarFax information is generally not available for them. Since this car will probably never be sold or registered, your car is more accurately the 192nd out of the 314 available. This VR4 was built in the 1st week of August 1995. Of the 6096 vehicles made at the Nayoga plant, this car was the 3384th vehicle to be created that year. There are 75 other cars that were made with both the same interior and exterior color. There are 76 cars with the same exterior color and 252 cars with the same interior color. Note: The production order is assigned based on the order of the serial number. In 1996 it cost $45,600 and was ahead of its time with AWD and AWS (all wheel steering) It is a highly customized 1996 model that has a 1999 full front clip conversion along with the '99 sail panels (B pillar trim). The car was mostly modified by Von Morgan of Morgan's Motorsports in St. Louis, MO where little attentions to detail are Von's trademark. The heart of this beast is the high performance engine that was built at ProCraft Racing by Charlie, who is a retired Roush mechanic. The new OEM short block was bored out to 3.1 Liters and fitted with CP forged pistons and Carrillo billet rods and the factory aluminum heads were ported and polished and fitted with 1mm oversized valves. The camshafts were custom ground to a more aggressive turbo profile to get the most out of the upgraded Turbonetics Stage II TD04 15G turbos which are pushing the intake charge through a large GT PRO FMIC with polished aluminum hard piping and red silicon connectors. The boosted intake charge is run past RC Engineering 680Cc injectors where an AEM EMS ecu controls the MSD DIS-4 Digital Ignition and fires the intake charge and it exits the engine via a custom set of down pipes and through a single shot exhaust with a JDM BEE-R muffler. The power is transmitted though a Fidanza aluminum flywheel and a Spec Stage 3 Max clutch to a PST 1 piece carbon fiber driveshaft. Keeping everything cool is a 3SX dual pass aluminum radiator with dual FAL shrouded fans on the radiator AND another pair mounted infront of the A/C condenser. The whole engine package is topped off with polished aluminum everywhere, from the valve covers to the intake plenum and all of the many feet of aluminum hard piping from the turbos through the front mount intercooler to the intake manifold. The chassis is fitted with fully adjustable TEIN coilovers and 3SX adjustable control arms for lowered cars. At the corners are cross drilled and slotted rotors, stainless steel braided brake lines and ENIKEI OR52 wheels fitted with BF Goodrich G-Force T/A 265/35/18 tires for the road hugging and stopping duties. The beautiful factory Pearl White paint was resprayed by Custom Hot Rods in St Louis back in '05 when the Cianci widebody fenders and Victory 1 hood were added to the car along with removing the rear wiper and filling in the hole for a clean look. To add to the clean look, the firewall in the engine bay had misc lines and wiring looms relocated along with the brake lines along the inner fender being relocated and the resulting holes were filled in and the engine bay and under hood were sprayed pearl white to match the exterior.
