Mesquite is indigenous to central Texas--it is much more expensive than regular hardwoods because it is so hard. The wood grain has a tight, burled appearance, with a slight burgundy tone to it. No doubt, this room will make you feel like you have stepped into a Texas ranch house. It is intended to serve two purposes--as an office and a media room. Keep in mind that this is a single story floorplan, and it just keeps unfolding in dramatic fashion as you get deeper inside. As you make that final turn into the main section of the house you may be ready to give the builder a check and a hug. Incredible! It is a case study for how to use architecture to light the senses on fire. Consider this fascinating detail. You can walk into some big houses, and the box-like footprint means the entire back wall simply spans across from one corner to the other in a straight line.
